We take play and exposing our students to healthy risk very very seriously. We believe kids should be exposed to risk early on for the sake of developing healthy risk aversion, courage, gross motor skills, confidence, problem solving, creativity, collaboration, core strength, and so much more. That said, this school is not for everyone. Please read our approach and policies regarding children’s play in our Play Policy below. All parents who choose to enroll their children at Golestan must agree to this policy.
First and foremost, our teachers must be kind, compassionate, and nurturing. We work hard to develop a standard across grades at our school. To that end, we use Golestan’s Guide to Teaching as a starting point for training all teachers and volunteers. Many parents find this document to be very useful at home as well!
